*knock knock knock... creak*

I am your neighbor from upstairs. Yeah I've seen you shuffling about with your little d9g Glad to see you are wearing more than just a bathrobe today.

Anyways... Emma has baked some fruit cake and has sent me door to door as some kind of Holiday penance. Have one, Yeah, yeah, Happy Holidays and New Year.

Beats one of those chain letters right? No I don't really think you should eat it. So heavy not sure what it would do to you. But it is the thought that counts. See how festive it is with those hard bits of green and red? Quote

I've got my foot in your door. Just stop a moment and appreciate it.

I can go a million ways from this point. Floor you with my words in some unexpected direction. The world holds its breath. It could be pure magic. It could be an utter pointless waste of time.

Whatever will be will be.

Meanwhile, klaxons sound loudly in another part of reality.

NEW THREAD. NEW THREAD. NEW THREAD.

Admins slide down fire poles. Multiple eyes arrive online. Agents go off to sift text screaming like tie fighters.

Yes this is the month that we plug into the love outlet. You need it don't you, you junkie. The hard stuff. The sugary lift. Can't get enough. More and more and more.

And we also do our year's accounting. In the sober light of the Solstice. The sighs of contentment are paired with the rude awakenings and stern resolutions. You were so bad and must repent. ON YOUR KNEES MAGGOT!!!

But relax. I am just the ghost of Christmas fruitcake. The first spirit. Not the last.

Each year I come at this time to try to give you some peace. Some joy. Before the other spirits come to mess with you.

Wow, you've been a busy beaver this year. Lots and lots of effort. Hey there was some real growth. Let's not lose that observation in the clutter.

And you were mostly sincere. The way I score it. You may have reaped some unintended consequences there, and been a little hard on your neighbor, but your heart was in the right place, mostly. It's not easy forging a correct view of reality and taking an appropriate response. Especially when you are trying to make a living.

So kick back and enjoy the season. Think about the victories even as you lick your wounds. The mercies even as you still shiver from the cruelties. You will have another chance in the new year to show all you've learned. Repay kindness and show gratitude.

Don't chip your tooth on my fruitcake. Just put it on the table during the month and toss it out when it comes time to trash your tree. I find that it goes well with a big cup of punch. You dreenk the punch and kind of frame the cake in the scene to keep steady.

That's a good fellah.

This is just a reminder that since it is after the winter solstice here in the northern hemisphere that the days are getting more and more sunshine, growing longer in that sense, as the ol' rotational axis tilt has its effect. You slackers in the southern hemisphere now are seeing a steady shrinkage in your sun empire.
You've got a chance for last ditch cardiac resolution realization. Before your next set kicks in. Still have some deals in the shops to tempt your budget restrictions.
